|Montreal Lutheran Council
Conseil Lutherienne de Montréal
Proposed and organized by the Montreal Lutheran Council, the Montreal Joint-Lutheran Picnic has been held in Saint-Lazaire for the past several years, rain or shine. Parishioners gather from all the Lutheran congregations in Montreal. An outdoor service is held. Each family brings their own food. There re group events, such as bean bag toss, soccer game and tug-of-war. Weather permiiting, most of the children spend the afternoon at the pool. A large covered enclosure has served well on the one occasion when it rained.
Some years, as shown below in 2005, the weather cooperates and it is warm, sunny and pastoral. Other years, like during Hurricane Irene in 2011, we have to adapt. But we Lutherans come together, regardless.
